I made it to Cusco! (Last night)

I love it already.  It feels exactly how a city in South America should feel.  It’s in the mountains, they speak Spanish, they sell ponchos, and have llamas, they drink Coca leaf tea and eat rich warm meals.  Old ladies dressed in traditional Andean clothing sit on church steps with their granddaughters next to them also in traditional dress, simply looking adorable.  It is a much bigger city than expected and I was proud of my self for walking from the bus station to the area of town where I knew my accommodation to be located and only having to ask two police officers and three cab drivers for directions.  It’s always best to have more than enough opinions on where a street could be located in such an ancient city.  Many of the street signs are worn off, and many streets change names half a block down or unexpectedly go around a corner.  It’s very confusing for everyone apparently.  But, I made it!  I had a lovely supper of potato soup, rice and a beef stew of some kind (Yes, I ate the beef!).  I also had two cups of coca leaf tea, which is supposed to help with the altitude sickness.

Well I must sleep now, and I will post this right away in the morning and write more as soon as possible.
